Masamune is an average looking teenager, he has short black hair. He is also surprisingly fit as seen on the beach where he revealed his abs
Personality
Masamune is a die hard Otaku, he will scream passionately watching Anime even if he is in public as shown when he was watching Anime on Ririsa's phone with Ririsa on a park bench and screamed LIlia's name startling pedestrians . Deep down he is a broken person, after his heartbreak and constant bullying at the hands of a girl he liked, he refused to ever love real girls again and only loved Anime Waifu's. His personality changed when he met Ririsa he became more open and would be protective of her. After spending time with Ririsa and the others he learned to stop seeing Cosplayers as figurines and began to treat them better
After the Wall around his heart was broken down by Marina and Ririsa, his love for 3D girls was restored resulting in him getting extremely anxious and flustered around them
Background
Masamune was born to loving parents and his mother doted on him every day, sadly when he was 9 his mother abandoned the family, this resulted in Masamune being shunned by his father and his sister, leaving him growing up in an abusive household, he was rarely allowed in the house, but thankfully his neighbor Marina always invited him into her home and her mother happily cooked meals for Masamune
Relationships
Ririsa Amano
Okumura is very fond of her, he met her when she joined his manga club, at first he wasn't fond of her as he hated 3D girls, but when he found out that she loved Manga and Cosplay he decided to give her a chance, when he saw his Liliel Cosplay he was enamored and allowed her to join. Their relationship grew strong, and he acted as her emotional rock, when 753 Hurt her feelings Okumura was enraged and he comforted Ririsa by telling her that she shouldn't care what some stuck up big shot thought, and that Ririsa loves Cosplay and that is all that mattered. Okumura would continue to support Ririsa and then would realize that he was falling in love with her and not her Cosplay
Mikari Tachibana
She was his childhood friend, he saved her from bullies who were teasing her due to her scruffy hair. later when she improved her looks the bullies tried hitting on her but Okumura stepped in and told them that she was the same girl that they were bullying the other day,, and that if they didn't like her at her worst, then they didn't deserve her at her best. Okumura spent lots of time with Mikari growing up and at school when he could, but after seeing how popular she got, she drifted away. Years later Mikari transferred to his school and hugged him when she saw him again, she then joined his club and became another person that Okumura had to look out for. When Okumura found out that Mikari loved him, he felt terrible for not noticing sooner, but also terrible because he wasn't sure if he felt the same way and was terrified of rejecting her and hurting her. Masamune then talked with Erika and Erika told him that the reason that all his pictures of Mikari are perfect is because he was in love with Mikari, Masamune cherishes Mikari so much that when Mikari stripped and tried to seduce him Masamune gently pushed her away and told her that she was too precious to him for him to take advantage of her
Mayuri Hanyu
She is his teacher and Club advisor, They had a rocky start when Okumura discovered her Identity, but after becoming his advisor they grew closer, Okumura turns to her a lot for his own emotional support as he hated burdening his friends, Okumura holds a great deal of affection form Mayuri but it is more of a big sister relationship than romantic. When Okumura told Mayuri about his past Mayuri did what she could to support him. Masamune also saved Mayuri from her darkness as in chapter 154 he told her that she uses the word teacher in too many different ways and that it annoyed him, he helped Mayuri remember why she became a teacher and reignited her love for cosplay

Another cosplayer that Okumura has worked with, at first he disliked her for making Ririsa cry out of spite, but after the event and she had apologized to Ririsa Okumura forgave her, he later gave her his contact information as she asked for it( she thought he looked like her 2D love Interest) they became friends
Magino
They were rivals at their first convention, but after that they became friends, Magino has helped support Okumura and will step in if need be, this was shown when Okumura got angry at a crying Ririsa and Magino placed her hand lovingly on his shoulder and told him not to say anything that he couldn't take back, Magino also helped him improve his photography
Aria Kisaki
She is another of his many Female Cosplayer friends he has stated that he loves her along with all the girls he knows, and Aria is fine with not being his main interest, They met when Aria interrupted Okumura's photoshoot and she wanted to join in, Okumura had to speak up for Ririsa who cannot say no, After joining the Manga Club Aria seemed to be suspicious of Okumura for being a guy, who she would constantly make hints that he was a pervert even though he did nothing wrong but after Okumura helped Aria figure out that her father was still alive Aria began to trust him. Okumura looks after Aria like he does with the others and always packs additions supplies as he knows that Aria is a scatterbrain and forgets things. Okumura has also complimented how good Aria looks as he was trying to understand how to treat real girls. Aria was the first person that Okumura told about his past, this made Aria swear that she would always be by his side. On Valentines Day Aria gave him chocolates but she insisted that he open them at home, meaning that it was extra special. During the Scavenger hunt Masamune was given an impossible task by the school to find a Gyaru who is nice to Otaku, Masamune smirked and called Aria Chan and Aria ran to his aid and helped him win the scavenger hunt, shocking other Otaku
Noa
Okumura met Noa at a fabric store where he and Ririsa were buying cosplay supplies, Okumura noticed Noa struggling so being a gentleman he helped her, but sadly Noa was very socially awkward and gave an angry glare when she was trying to thank him. and the Summerfest Okumura saw that Noa was troubled and followed her, he was able to break her Icey shell and get her to speak her mind. After Noa became friends with Okumura and Ririsa, Okumura worked hard to help Noa get used to being in big groups, he also helped Noa get over her fear of the ocean by holding her hand as they walked into the ocean.
Ogino
One of his few Male Friends, they met at His and Ririsa's first convention where they were stall neighbors, at first Okumura disliked him due to his condescending ego, but Okumura gritted his teeth and finished the event, HE would later receive a call from Ogino offering to help him with his photography, Okumura respects Ogino for not sugar coating words, he has called Okumura a novice many times, Ogino was the person who pointed him in the direction of Mr. Camera to help him get better
Tary Ryuzoji
The Student council secretary, and one of his few male friends. Okumura seems to be on good terms with him, Tary knows all about his man cave and his past trauma.
Taki Midori
Okumura is on good terms with Taki, he respects her and helped her get costumes for the Culture Festival. He received Chocolates from Taki on Valentines day and his box was really extravagant. During their second semester Taki was put in Masamune's class and seated next to him, this helped their friendship grow more.
Abe Marina
Okumura and Marina were neighbors growing up, Okumura would play with her all the time as his parents were always working, Okumura loved Marina and confessed, sadly she rejected him and this left him heartbroken and got him bullied by other girls for asking out such a beautiful girl, After reuniting Okumura was able to patch things up with Marina after he finally got a chance to talk to her alone. Okumura found out that Marina did love him back and now they are as close as ever. Thanks to Marina constantly helping Masamune he was able to slightly break his trauma, however not fully, but thanks to Marina dressing up as Liliel and giving Masamune a harsh life lesson he broke down his wall fully and he then hugged Marina whilst weeping tears of gratitude.
Tsubaki Hana
She is the newest club member, Masamune was very kind to her and helped her feel welcome in the club, he would try his best not to geek out too much around her as not to scare her off. Masamune cherishes Tsubaki and thinks of her as an innocent Puppy too as she seems to cling to Masamune like a puppy when he is doing Manga Research. Tsubaki can scare Masamune sometimes as when he failed to get a nosebleed from the girls Tsubaki stated that she would just break his nose causing Aria and the others to scream at her not to get violent.
Okumura's Sister
Okumura loves his sister but she despises him, her hatred towards him stems from their mother divorcing their father and not taking any of the kids, Okumura's sister hates him so much that she bans him from their home whenever she is around even on Christmas day so Okumura has to spend Christmas elsewhere, Okumura's sister blames Okumura for their mother leaving even though that isn't the case
Okumura's Mother
Okumura loved his mother and she doted on him all the time, sadly one day she just divorced his father and abandoned Okumura and left him at the mercy of his sister. Okumura resents his mother for leaving his father for another man, this put a mental block on Okumura and made him afraid to love others as he would see it as cheating like his mother did.
Okumura's Father
Okumura has a strained relationship with his father, it is just not as extreme as his strained relationship with his sister. Masamune loved his father and his father loved him and still does, sadly the stress of his wife leaving him strained their relationship, however unlike his sister Mr. Okumura blamed himself and never blamed his son. His father would still buy Masamune anything he asked for even after the divorce so his father bought him every volume of Valkyrie Battlefield and Angel Paratroopers whenever a new volume was released
Lime & Lemon
Masamune gets along well with the twins, they may be rivals but they are on good terms, Masamune looks out for Lime as Lime is a boy and is shy in the men's changing room so Masamune always accompanies him into the changing room and helps him change. Lemon seems to have a crush on Masamune as she always blushes around him, Lime may also be gay for Masamune as he also blushes around him, but that may be due to shyness however Lime does seem to make sexual moans when Masamune helps him out of his costume, which makes Masamune slightly uncomfortable. Masamune at some point acquired their contact info and called them to ask about their reasons to cosplay which they happily answered him
XIaoyu
She is one of Masamune's friends from China, she also adores Angel Paratroopers and always calls Masamune Ashford-sama, she is good friends with him and has even stated that she bares no romantic feelings for him, Masamune trusts her enough to ask for her help, He met her when he and Ririsa were attending a cosplay event and he was dressed as Ashford, saw another Liliel run past and she dropped one of her head pieces, Masamune returned it and the Xiao was enamored by how accurate his Ashford was, Masamune allowed Xiao to accompany them, after their day he gave her is contact info along with taking a selfie with her, Later on he called her for help, as Ririsa was busy doing another Cosplay he asked Xiao to dress as Liliel to Cosplay with his friends.
Abilities
Physical abilities
Masamune has a muscular physique and is also very strong, he was able to overpower Mikari Aria and Marina when they were trying to confiscate his phone to see who was his wallpaper
Masamune was also seen carrying really heavy loads on his own with no effort.
Photography
Masamune is a good Photographer, he is able too capture great photos, after he showed Ogino he was referred to as a novice by pro standards but thanks to Ogino training him his skills improved greatly. After Masamune cast away his darkness and broke the wall behind his heart his photos were a thing of great beauty
High Intelligence
Mikari has stated that Masamune gets really good grades on his tests, he is able to play games and watch Anime and still pass all his tests with little study time.
